Scholarship recipients for 2026 must be graduating high school seniors who attend school within one of the following boundaries:
Arizona -- Pinal County
Arkansas -- Mississippi County
Colorado -- Elbert County
Illinois -- City of Mattoon, Grundy County, Ogle County, and Vermilion County
Maryland -- Cecil County, Queen Anne's County, and Wicomico County
Nevada -- Lander County
North Carolina -- the City of Charlotte, Person County, Scotland County, Davidson County, Jones County, Lenoir County, Duplin County, Pitt County, City of Charlotte and Robeson County
Pennsylvania -- Erie County, Clarion County, Venango County, and Carbon County
Texas -- Bexar County, Coleman County, City of Baytown, Kinney County, City of Richmond, Dimmit County, and students within the boundaries of Henrietta ISD and Bellevue ISD
Washington State -- Yakima County and Klickitat County
Scholarships will be granted to students pursuing a 4-year, 2-year, or certificate program at an accredited community college, trade school, or university located in the United States with a fall 2026 enrollment start date. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate an interest in a career in the energy industry or a STEM-related field, but all eligible students are welcome to apply. Should the student not enroll in a college or certificate program in fall 2026, the scholarship will be forfeited.
Proof of enrollment will be required prior to fund disbursal as well as a completed W-9 form to ensure the funds can be disbursed to the recipient. Scholarships will be paid directly to students this year subject to agreeing to the terms and conditions. Should the Energizing Tomorrow's Leaders scholarship impact another scholarship, the student can elect to forfeit the scholarship or proceed with the method of disbursal outlined above.
The scholarship program is open to students within the boundaries of one of the eligible areas listed above who are attending public, charter, or private high schools; or who are home-schooled.
